Description
Aurora Embrace is one of a series of five paintings created together over three intense days in the studio. The series shares a palette and a mood, painted in a continuous flow of work where each canvas informed the next.
Three of the five have already found homes with collectors.
While the others in the series moved towards something bright and open, Aurora Embrace pulled in a different direction. Fiery skies press down over a brooding foreground, the tension between darkness below and light above held in careful balance. And yet on the horizon, the light is unmistakably there. Certain. Patient. Waiting.
It is a painting about endurance. About holding on through the forbidding middle part of the journey, trusting that what glows on the horizon is real and worth moving towards.
