Description
Burning Torrent is a painting about force. Dark, heavy clouds bear down from above while a diagonal slash of white light tears across the canvas beneath them. It does not ask permission. It burns through.
Below the light, warm oranges and earthy ochres push up from the lower edge, catching fire against the deep blues that dominate the rest of the painting. There is a collision happening here. Weight and brightness, cold and heat, stillness and movement, all meeting in the same space.
This is not a painting about calm. It is about the moment when something refuses to be held down any longer.
