Description
Flare was one of the first paintings made when the spark of painting was catching with me again after years away. It belongs to a small series exploring heat and flame, but not in a destructive sense. More in the way of a phoenix. New beginnings forged in fire.
There is something raw and instinctive about this painting that I have never quite replicated. The energy of someone rediscovering something they had lost. The flare of a flame catching after a long time cold.
It’s a painting about beginnings. About what happens when something that felt finished turns out to have been resting.
