Description

This painting came from an unexpectedly early morning in Mapperley, Nottingham. Up before the world had woken, watching the mist clear and disperse as the sunrise caught it and turned it crimson. That particular silence of early morning when the light is doing something extraordinary and you are the only witness to it.

There is an intimacy to that kind of moment. The feeling that the sky is performing for no one in particular and you have simply been lucky enough to be there. The mist dissolving into crimson clouds has a quiet drama that doesn’t announce itself. It simply unfolds.

Beneath the Silence is an original abstract landscape painting for sale, worked in acrylic on canvas at 60 x 60 cm. Intimate in scale but expansive in feeling — the kind of work that changes depending on the light in the room and the mood you bring to it.
