Burnt Sky

Description

Burnt Sky is the painting that gave the whole collection its name. I wanted one piece big enough to hold the full range of that long hot summer, from the deep red at the edges through to the white heat at the centre, without it feeling like a single moment. It took the longest of any of them to finish.

I worked the surface in stages, building red and burnt orange out from the corners and letting gold and white push through the middle where the heat felt strongest. There is more blending in this one than in the others, more time spent softening the edges between colours until the whole canvas felt like it was glowing rather than burning.

This is the largest painting in my Burnt Skies collection, the one Reckoning, Firestorm, Euphoria and Wildfire all sit alongside. If those four are close-up moments of heat and light, Burnt Sky is the wide view, the whole sky caught in one frame.

Painted in acrylic on canvas, 100 x 100 cm, and presented in a black matt floating frame so it is ready to hang straight away. Each painting comes with a certificate of authenticity. Shipping is standard tracked delivery.
