Description
Golden Tide was an act of pure imagination – a deliberate step away from landscape and into something more elemental. An experiment in letting go of the real and reaching for the felt.
The destination I was painting towards was tranquility itself. Not a place. Not a scene. The feeling. That warm, golden stillness that arrives when everything finally settles – when the noise stops and something luminous and calm takes its place.
Working more abstractly freed something in the process. The gold tones build and wash across the canvas like a tide finding its level – restless at first, then settling into something quiet and certain. A painting that moves towards peace rather than depicting it.
