Vortex was the beginning of something. One of the first paintings where I stopped trying to represent a landscape and started trying to reproduce a feeling instead. That shift changed everything about how I work.

The inspiration was simple – the contrast of dark and light. Not as a technique but as an experience. The way intense darkness makes light feel urgent. The way a single point of brightness can pull you through shadow. Vortex explores that tension, drawing the viewer into a swirl of energy where blues and fiery tones collide and something unexpected happens at the centre.

It is a painting about the moment before clarity. The chaos that exists just before things resolve. There is cosmic movement in it, and elemental power, but also something quieter underneath. The calm that lives inside the storm.
