Tidal Ascent came from the same creative moment as Emerald Surge — a deliberate push towards brightness after a period of working in darker, moodier tones. But where Emerald Surge found joy in colour itself, Tidal Ascent wanted something more dynamic. More physical. More alive with movement.
The wave doesn’t just arrive. It ascends. There is an upward energy in this painting that feels almost defiant. The blues and teals surge with a vitality that lifts rather than crashes. Bright, bold and unapologetically dramatic.
It is a painting about momentum. About the force that builds beneath the surface and then expresses itself fully and without reservation. The tide that doesn’t creep in quietly but rises to meet you.
